Job Title: Yearbook Manufacturing Manager

Night Shift: 6:00pm - 4:00am

Jostens has a great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Manager with expertise in overseeing and directing operations over multiple departments!

This Manager will provide and translate into effective action a forward-looking visionary strategy to support yearbook and commercial sales growth by providing quality printed materials on time, while allowing for increased volume and process improvements. Incumbents are responsible for leading and managing a manufacturing unit which produces products that meet established cost, quality, on-time delivery, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and retention standards. Specifically, working with direct reports to provide printed products to satisfy external customer requirements and meet scheduled ship dates.

In addition, incumbents oversee the recruiting, training, retaining and developing of growth opportunities for the unit’s work

force, and for ensuring a motivational, productive and safe work environment that operates in compliance with existing regulations and performance goals. Incumbents develop annual operating objectives, including budgets and control systems, and ensure that product and process improvement opportunities are realized. They are responsible for sound asset management and for interfacing effectively with Sales and Marketing, and other Jostens printing locations as well as other facilities.

The role supports and partners with continuous improvement engineers to drive process improvement and safety goals to full maximization.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • BA in Business, Manufacturing and/or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5 – 10 years of experience as a Manager in a Manufacturing/Operations environment.

  • Demonstrated success managing a diverse team in a production environment.

  • Excellent skills in work organization, delegating work and production management.

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel Spreadsheets.

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, & the ability to work effectively at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to initiate change through problem solving, decision-making, planning & utilization/development of employees and resources.

  • Ability to integrate contemporary technologies into manufacturing processes to improve productivity.

  • Financial planning and control experience, with P&L accountability.

  • Cross-functional team communication experience.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong Safety background and experience supporting, developing and/or executing safety plans.

Preferred:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Yearbook/Commercial Manufacturing Operations.

  • Experience in “made to order” business/manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of 5S methodologies, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing.

  • Experience supporting and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives.

As a Night Shift Manufacturing Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage manufacturing operations on night shift across multiple departments

  • Provide support in supervision and direction of production employees on night shifts

  • Partner with supervisors and managers to drive night shift performance and goals

  • Oversee performance, training, coaching, enforces company policies and safety standards

  • Act as liaison between night shift supervisors, department managers and Human Resources

  • Work closely, and maintains good communication with Director of Operations and Plant Manager

  • Prepare and provides reports and monitors production KPIs
